Our Trainee Foundation Operative Programme provides hands-on experience working on real power infrastructure projects while gaining valuable industry training and recognised qualifications. This is an excellent opportunity for college students, apprentices, or anyone interested in starting a career in construction or engineering.
Successful candidates will join our structured trainee development Programme, designed to provide industry training, mentoring, and a clear pathway to skilled and supervisory roles within the business.
You will work alongside experienced professionals and develop the practical skills needed to build and support the UK power network, gaining real experience on active infrastructure projects across Scotland.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Trainee Foundation Operative, you will support our site teams on civil engineering projects across Scotland.
Typical duties include:
- Assisting with civil engineering and foundation works
- Supporting groundwork, excavation and site preparation
- Learning to safely use tools, equipment and machinery
- Assisting with steel fixing, concreting and shuttering
- Working closely with supervisors and experienced operatives
- Following all health, safety and environmental procedures
This is a hands-on role working outdoors as part of a professional site team.
