Power Grid Civils is delighted to be working on behalf of Green GEN Cymru (GGU) and independent network operator during the early works phase of the project, managing and delivering the geotechnical investigation programme for a new OHL route.
As the Principal Contractor, our primary responsibility is to plan, manage and coordinate all site activities in full compliance with the CDM regulations 2015.
Our scope of works includes:
- Delivering a comprehensive ground investigation programme comprising approximately 70 rotary boreholes, trial pits, and the installation of groundwater and geotechnical monitoring stations.
- Providing high-quality geotechnical data to support the design team in developing foundation solutions for overhead line towers, underground cable routes, switching stations and sealing end compounds.
- Coordinating UKAS-accredited laboratory testing, collating all site and laboratory data, and producing comprehensive factual reports that form the basis of the subsequent geotechnical interpretative report.
