Following the successful delivery of the first phase of the Vyrnwy Frankton project, Power Grid Civils is delighted to have been appointed as Principal Contractor to deliver the ground investigation works for the Towy Usk project in Wales on behalf of Green GEN Cymru.
Through careful planning, effective coordination and close collaboration with our valued supply chain partners, Power Grid Civils will safely deliver a comprehensive geotechnical investigation programme to support the proposed new overhead line route.
Scope of Works
- Delivering a comprehensive ground investigation programme comprising approximately 100 rotary boreholes, trial pits, and the installation of groundwater and geotechnical monitoring stations.
- Providing high-quality geotechnical data to support the design team in developing foundation solutions for overhead line towers, underground cable routes, switching stations and sealing end compounds.
- Managing UKAS-accredited laboratory testing, collating all field and laboratory data, and producing detailed factual reports that form the basis of the subsequent geotechnical interpretative report.
Through robust project management, technical expertise and a commitment to the highest standards of safety and quality, Power Grid Civils will provide reliable ground investigation data that enables informed engineering decisions and supports the successful delivery of the Towy Usk project.
